Throughout July, Farmers Savings Bank partnered with local law enforcement and the Aging & Disability Resource Center to host a series of Stop the Scam! presentations in our communities. These free educational events were designed to help community members recognize, avoid, and report scams before they become victims.
Our sessions in Mount Horeb, Mineral Point, and Dodgeville brought together community members eager to learn practical ways to protect themselves and their loved ones. Attendees heard real-life examples of common scams, learned how scammers operate, and received valuable tips on what to do if they suspect fraudulent activity.
We were honored to have representatives from the Mount Horeb Police Department, Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Dodgeville Police Department, Mineral Point Police Department, Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Aging & Disability Resource Center join us for in-depth Q&A sessions. Their expertise and firsthand experiences made the discussions both informative and impactful.
At Farmers Savings Bank, we believe knowledge is one of the best defenses against fraud. By working together as a community, we can help stop scams before they happen.
A special thank you to everyone who attended, asked questions, and shared their own experiences—it’s through these conversations that we strengthen our defenses against fraud. And thank you to our partners in law enforcement and community services for making these events possible.
We’re proud to be part of a community that looks out for one another. Stay alert, stay informed, and together, we can Stop the Scam!
